IGARD (SINGAPORE) 
IGARD (SINGAPORE) is a private limited company incorporated to provide both professional eye-care services and high quality optical products to meet the rising demand from the increasingly short-sighted younger generation of Singaporeans and the ageing local population. It also specialises in occupational optics and eye protection (Prescription Safety Glasses).
It is estimated that up to 50% of Singaporean children aged 12 years old suffer from short-sightedness (or myopia). The figure rises to approximately 70% in 18 years olds, whilst the average rate of myopia progression in children is far above that of other countries. It is also very unfortunate that individuals suffering from progressive and high myopia are at greater risk in developing complicated eye diseases, such as glaucoma and retinal detachment.
Everyone should at some point visit an optometrist for an eye examination that is complete with a thorough eyesight and visual health assessment. This is especially important for all myopic individuals. In addition, it is very important to use only an appropriately prescribed and dispensed spectacles and/or contact lenses.
In fulfilling the aims of incorporation, IGARD (Singapore) has identified three company divisions to focus on their specific core capabilities:
